ISLAMABAD, Jul 25 (APP):In the ongoing murder case of social media personality Sana Yousaf, the police have handed over the charge sheet to the prosecution for further examination.
The case is being heard at the District and Sessions Courts in Islamabad.
A two-member prosecution team, comprising Raja Naveed Kiyani and Muhammad Adnan, has been assigned to scrutinize the report. Once the review process is complete, the charge sheet will be submitted to the court.
According to sources, the trial will begin in the court of the concerned judge after the charge sheet is officially presented.
The police investigation names Umar Hayat as the accused and identifies him as the prime suspect in the case. The report also includes the testimonies of Sana Yousaf’s mother, her aunt, and other witnesses.
The charge sheet also contains a reference to the accused’s confessional statement recorded under Section 164 of the Criminal Procedure Code.
The submission of the charge sheet is a critical step in moving the case forward, setting the stage for the court proceedings to begin.
