ISLAMABAD, Aug 18 (APP): Minister for Information, Broadcasting and National Heritage Senator Pervaiz Rashid Thursday said religious scholars had launched the ideological Zarb e Azab to defeat terrorist and extremist mindset.
Addressing the Nada e Ummat conference held under the auspices of Pakistan Ulema Council here, he said one Zarb e Azb was launched to eliminate terrorists, their hideouts and their facilitators, while the ideological Zarb e Azb had been launched by religious scholars to promote the real image of Islam and today the entire world had accepted that terrorism has no link with Islam and Muslims.
He said for all the people their religious sites were most sacred places and for Muslims no place was more sacred than the Holy Ka’aba and Masjid Nabvi (SAW), and those casting bad eye to the Holy mosques were the real Satans who deserved to be throned.
He said Muslims of the world, particularly that of Pakistan, should thank Pakistan Ulema Council as it highlighted the real peaceful image of Islam at a time when terrorists were trying to distort its image by spreading hatred through the use of weapons.
“If the religious scholars did not come forward, the terrorists
would have convinced the world that they were representatives of Islam”, he added.
He said due to the efforts of religious scholars, the presidents of
United States, France and European Union leaders had admitted that terrorists incidents in their countries had no relation with Islam. He said in the US presidential elections, major campaign issue were not economy or social matters.
The minister said one US candidate claimed that terrorism was linked with Islam and Muslims would not be allowed to live in the US, while on contrary Hilary Clinton said the incidents of terrorism had no link with Islam and Muslims, and her stance had been endorsed by majority of the US masses and her popularity had increased and this was the outcome of religious scholars’ ideological efforts.
He hoped that the religious scholars would continue their efforts to teach the new generation about true image of Islam, so that the terrorists could not get recruits for exploding suicide jackets.
Pervaiz Rashid said there was no link between Islam and terrorism as terrorists had no religion and this had been acknowledged by all the nations, which suffered incidents of terrorism.
He said Islam was a religion of peace and harmony based on the service of humanity.
He said under the leadership of Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif and with the consultation of political leadership of the country, the national security institutions had launched operation Zarb e Azb and the hideouts of terrorists organizations were being destroyed, but at the same time there was need to defeat their mindset through ideological war.
He said the flag of the victory of real ideology of Islam was in the hands of leaders like Hafiz Tahir Ashrafi and the nation was his following him.
The conference was attended by ambassadors of Saudi Arabia, Palestine, Jordan and Yemen, as well as the religious scholars and people from all walks of life.
