Ten-day Inter-provincial Residential Program for Young Writers inaugurated at PAL

ISLAMABAD, Jan 16 (APP):The inaugural ceremony of a ten-day Inter-provincial Residential Program for young writers was held at the Committee Room of the Pakistan Academy of Letters (PAL) on Thursday.
Organized by the Pakistan Academy of Letters (PAL), under the National Heritage & Culture Division, the gracious event commenced with Qirat, followed by the national anthem of Pakistan.
Secretary of National Heritage and Culture Division Hassan Nasir Jamy welcomed the participants who were selected from across the country for participating in this ten-day extensive program.He hailed PAL efforts for organizing the event for creative writers.
He said, “I am feeling happy to be there; I hope all the participants will spend great time and have a great learning experience here.”
Head of Department and Chairperson PAL Najiba Arif welcomed all the participants, the distinguished guests and media for attending the event for the promotion of literature in Pakistan.
She said, “Twenty writers from across the country are selected for the program on merit.” She hoped that the program would benefit the writers.
This program aimed to promote literature and enhance the interaction and networking between the participants who came from diverse cultures. They would be able to know each other’s culture and value as well through the program, she expressed.
She also shared the schedule of the ten-day program.
Renowned philanthropist and impact entrepreneur Dr. Tariq Habib Cheema also welcomed the participants and urged them to promote literature through writing.
It is worth mentioning here that 20 writers from the four provinces and two each from Gilgit-Baltistan and Kashmir are selected for this program, which would conclude on January 25.
