KARACHI, Jan 6 (APP): Chancellor, Sir Syed University of Engineering and Technology (SSUET) and Chairman Managing Committee, Aligarh Institute of Technology (AIT), Jawaid Anwar has said that the technical education is vital for the growth of any country.
He was speaking at the ceremony held by AIT to give gold medals to the AIT students who earned first positions in the examination of Sindh Board of Technical Education, said a statement on Wednesday.
There is a huge demand for technical education in modern age as it imparts knowledge of specific profession as well as it creates good opportunity for employment and successful career, he said.
Jawaid Anwar said Aligarh Institute of Technology (AIT) is providing modern facilities to the students according to the contemporary demands.
Highly qualified, experienced and skilled faculty is available at the institute to teach and groom students in an environment cordial for learning, he added.
“We must focus on the education of our children because they are the country’s future”, he said.
People roped with technical skills are an asset for a country and they may take the country to economic prosperity, he added.
Jawaid Anwar appreciated the services of the philanthropist Aslam Shah, especially for giving gold medals and scholarships to the position holders and bright students of AIT.
“We have very talented and brilliant students here at AIT and the great success of them in the SBTE examination indicate their dedication and deep love to learning,” Jawaid Anwar added.
Speaking on the occasion, Vice President AMUOBA, Syed Anwar Ali said, technical education is very important and useful in present day society, because unlike graduates, diploma holders get jobs easily and they do not have to loiter around for getting jobs.
He said that distinguished businessman and philanthropist Younus Shah alias Piyare Mian had a great contribution for establishing AIT, and now his son Aslam Shah is brilliantly carrying his father’s mission.
Noted social worker and businessman Aslam Shah vowed to support and encourage brilliant students by giving them scholarship and gold medals.
Chancellor Jawaid Anwar along with Aslam Shah and S. M. Muneef presented gold medals to Bisma Inam and Hafiza Arhum for securing first position in the exams of Sindh Board of Technical Education for the year 2015 and 2014 respectively.
