Teachers shape nation’s future, foster intellectual, moral growth of youth: Ayaz

ISLAMABAD, Oct 04 (APP):Speaker of National Assembly Sardar Ayaz Sadiq on Sunday said that teachers play a central role in building an educated and civilized society.
While paying tribute to the invaluable services rendered by the teachers, he said that teachers not only impart knowledge and awareness to the new generation but also inculcate in them a sense of their national responsibilities and duties.
He stressed the need to recognize and appreciate the services of teachers and ensure respect for their profession and protection of their rights.
Ayaz Sadiq expressed these views on the occasion of World Teachers’ Day, observed annually on October 5 across the world.
He said that the promotion of quality education is essential for a bright future of the country, and teachers play a key role in achieving this objective.
Ayaz Sadiq said that, keeping pace with rapid technological advancements, teachers must be equipped with modern teaching tools and technologies, provided with opportunities for professional development and access to research, and supported by a conducive teaching environment and necessary facilities.
The Speaker said that a strong education system can help build a knowledgeable, educated and capable workforce, which is essential for the country’s economic and social development.
Ayaz Sadiq said that effective measures to address the issues faced by teachers, protect their rights and enhance their professional capabilities are the need of the hour.
The Speaker reaffirmed that Parliament would continue to play its active role in protecting teachers’ rights, promoting education and ensuring better educational opportunities for the youth.
In his message, Deputy Speaker National Assembly Syed Ghulam Mustafa Shah said that teachers play a vital role in imparting knowledge and nurturing the intellectual and moral foundations of society.
He said that recognizing the services of teachers and promoting respect and appreciation for their contributions are hallmarks of a civilized and education-oriented society.
Paying tribute to teachers on World Teachers’ Day, he said that their dedication, hard work and guidance are instrumental in shaping the future of the country.
