Teacher honoured for decades of dedication in Federal Colleges

ISLAMABAD, Jul 31 (APP): A Farewell ceremony was organized here in honour of Professor Tahir Mahmood, a seasoned educationist, who retired on Thursday after completing over 42 years of public service, including more than 33 years in federal government colleges under the Federal Directorate of Education (FDE).
He began his teaching career in 1992 following a nine-year tenure with the Pakistan Post Office Department.
Professor Tahir served in various federal colleges, with a long and impactful association with Islamabad Model Postgraduate College H-8.
He was also an active leader of the Federal Government College Teachers Association (FGCTA) from 2009 to 2013, where he advocated for teachers’ rights.
A large number of in-service and retired principals attended his farewell reference.
Notable speakers included Prof. Javaid Iqbal Mughal (H-9), Prof. Athar ul Islam (H-8), Prof. Rashid Saleem (F-10/4), Khalida Makhdoom (F-7/2), Prof. Ali Yar(F-10/4 and Professor Muhammad Ashraf. They praised his dedication and said his services would be remembered with deep respect.
