ISLAMABAD, June 13 (APP): Minister of State for Capital Administration
and Development Division (CADD) Dr. Tariq Fazal Chaudhry has said that on the directions of Prime Minister Muhammad Nawaz Sharif around 1.75 billion subsidies is being given on all edible items across the country during the month of Ramzan.

He said that in line with the directions of the Prime Minister, edible items are not being provided in large quantity but their availability at concessional rates is also being ensured so that residents could get maximum benefit from this facility during Ramzan.

These views were expressed by Minister of State for CADD Dr. Tariq
Fazal Chaudhry during his visit to Sasta Bazaar Sector G-6. On this occasion, senior officers of the CDA also accompanied him.

Minister of State for CADD directed the concerned formations to
ensure provision of quality edible items including fresh fruits and vegetables in these bazaars on concessional rates during Ramzan.
Dr. Tariq Fazal Chaudhry directed to ensure the presence of relevant staff at the bazaars so that complaints of the consumers could be
addressed at the earliest.

He directed the concerned formations of the authority to take all
steps for provision of quality edible items at concessional rates to the residents at sasta bazaars of the Federal Capital during the holy month.
He further directed that strict monitoring and constant vigilance should be ensured so that residents of the city could get maximum benefits from these bazaars.

He also directed to take strict action against the elements involved in complaints regarding overcharging and misbehaving with the consumers.

He further directed to ensure the display of approved rate list at stalls of sasta bazaars.

Minister of State for CADD mingled with consumers and asked about
the quality and rates of edible items being provided at sasta bazaar. Consumers expressed satisfaction over the arrangements made by CDA at Sasta Bazar Sector G-6. Minister of State for CADD also visited the Utility Store established at Sasta Bazar and checked the quality and
rate list of different items.

Dr. Tariq Fazal Chaudhry said that the prices of edible items particularly of fruits, vegetables and cold drinks are almost 20 % less than the open market prices.

On this occasion, Director Municipal Administration briefed the Minister about the arrangements made at Sasta Bazaar.
