Tariq Fazal for joint efforts on national security issues

ISLAMABAD June 14 (APP): Minister of State for Capital Administration
and Development Division (CADD) Dr Tariq Fazal Chaudhry on Tuesday called for adopting a collective approach by all political parties on national security issues.

Speaking in a private news channel program, the minister said,
foreign policy and national security issues should not be thought as responsibility of one political party. “Rather a collective and unanimous approach is required to deal with these issues.”

He said the government is proceeding with clear mind to steer masses out of the confusion of Panama Leaks but the opposition is trying to politicking on this issue. “Among the opposition Pakistan Tehrik-e-Insaf (PTI) is playing up this issue more than other parties.”

“What the government desires is to move forward on other issues as well. Let the Panama issue continue on the sidelines, but other major national issues should not be overshadowed by this issue,” he added.
Answering a question on the issue of crushing in Margalla Hills National Park, the minister said, the government is not protecting illegal crushing.

“We have stopped crushing in the capital territory but if it continues in Punjab and Khyber Pakhtunkhwa areas, it is strange.”

He said protecting environment is responsibility of federal and
provincial governments and all political players should join hands for
the supremacy of the law.

On the issue of torturing and burning alive the young girls in different parts of the country, the minister regretted such incidents and said, laws are there to deal with such crime and it cannot be compromised. However, proving these crimes in the courts of law still remains an issue.
