Tarar urges respect between parliamentary houses

Federal Minister for Law and Justice Azam Nazeer Tarar on Wednesday emphasized the importance of maintaining mutual respect between both houses of Parliament and preserving the dignity of democratic institutions.

ISLAMABAD, Jun 17 (APP): Federal Minister for Law and Justice Azam Nazeer Tarar on Wednesday emphasized the importance of maintaining mutual respect between both houses of Parliament and preserving the dignity of democratic institutions.
Responding to an objection raised by Senator Danesh Kumar regarding remarks made by a member of the National Assembly about senators, Tarar said the comments represented the personal opinion of the concerned lawmaker and did not reflect the collective view of Parliament.
The law minister informed the Senate that he was present in the National Assembly when the remarks were made and had immediately responded to them, reaffirming the need to uphold respect between elected representatives and parliamentary institutions.
Tarar stressed that both houses of Parliament play a vital role in the democratic system and that their prestige and constitutional standing must be safeguarded at all times.
Turning to foreign affairs, the minister highlighted Pakistan’s diplomatic success in facilitating the recent Iran-US agreement, saying the country had earned considerable international respect through its constructive role.
He credited the leadership of the Prime Minister and the Field Marshal for Pakistan’s contribution to the peace process, noting that the country’s efforts had strengthened its global standing and demonstrated its commitment to dialogue, peace, and regional stability.
According to Tarar, Pakistan’s role in promoting diplomatic engagement reflects its desire for peaceful conflict resolution and enhanced cooperation in the region.
