Sudan reiterates support to Kashmiri people

ISLAMABAD, Sep 18 (APP): Expressing concern over situation in Indian Occupied Jammu and Kashmir (IOK), Sudanese Foreign Minister Prof. Ibrahim Ghandoor Sudan has reiterated his government’s support to right of self-determination for the Kashmiri people.

He was talking to Adviser on Foreign Affairs Sartaj Aziz during a meeting held on the sidelines of the 17th Summit of Non-Aligned Movement (NAM) in Margarita Island, Venezuela, said a press release on Sunday.

Appreciating brotherly and cordial relations that existed between Pakistan and Sudan, the two leaders agreed to inject a strong economic content into this relationship by enhancing bilateral trade and investment.

Foreign Minister Ghandoor sought Pakistan’s investment and expertise for Sudan’s agriculture sector.

They also decided to hold the Joint Ministerial Commission (JMC) at an early date and expressed satisfaction at the Bilateral Political Consultations held this May in Islamabad.

The two sides agreed that this consultation mechanism offered useful platform to discuss the entire gamut of bilateral relations and should be continued on regular basis in the future.

Pakistan and Sudan maintain active cooperation at the United Nations and other multilateral forums and the two sides agreed to continue this cooperation in the future.
