Student associations pay candle-lit tribute to NZ martyrs

ISLAMABAD, Mar 17 (APP):The National Union of Pakistani Students Associations and Youth Parliament on Sunday held a candle light demonstration to pay tribute to the martyred of New Zealand terror attack.
The participants gathered outside the National Press Club here in the evening and paused a one minute silence for the victims of the two mosques shooting in New Zealand that left 50 dead and wounded more than 40 during Friday prayers.
Speaking on the occasion, Pakistan Threek-e-Insaf (PTI) leader Sayed Israr shah said the attack in Christchurch city of New Zealand was not the result of any conflict between Christians and Muslims but was an international conspiracy to run the weapon industry.
PTI leader Khola Khan also condemned the incident and termed the killing a brutal shape of terrorism.
She expressed the hope that the New Zealand government would provide justice to the bereaved families of the Christchurch victims.
President of Youth Parliament Obaid Qurashi said the incident showed that terrorism had no religion and cast as a terrorist belonging to the Christian community had gone on a killing spree. The culprit should given an exemplary punishment while hanging him in public, he added.
He said every religion preaches the lessons of love, affection, peace, tolerance, brotherhood and respect of humanity.
President of National Unions of Pakistan Association Zaman Bajwa said such terror act would increase prejudice and hate among the masses, which should be stopped.
