Stakeholders’ joint efforts imperative for implementation of National Housing Policy 2025: Minister

ISLAMABAD, Oct 05 (APP): Federal Minister for Housing and Works Mian Riaz Hussain Pirzada on Monday said that the National Housing Policy 2025 reflected the vision of the Prime Minister, stressing that all relevant institutions and stakeholders would have to make concerted efforts for its effective implementation.

He was addressing the launching ceremony of the National Housing Policy 2025, held at the National University of Sciences and Technology (NUST), Islamabad, in collaboration with the United Nations Human Settlements Programme (UN-Habitat) on the occasion of World Habitat Day.

The federal minister hailed the efforts of all those who contributed to the formulation of the National Housing Policy 2025, saying that the policy had been prepared after 24 years through consultations with all relevant stakeholders.

Mian Riaz Hussain Pirzada said the launch of the National Housing Policy was an important step towards addressing the challenges facing the housing sector. He stressed that all relevant institutions and stakeholders would have to work together to ensure its effective implementation.

Federal Minister for Climate Change and Environmental Coordination Dr Musadik Masood Malik, educationists, researchers, representatives of the housing sector and other stakeholders attended the ceremony.

Dr. Musadik Malik, highlighting the importance of environmentally friendly and sustainable housing projects in the context of climate change, said the National Housing Policy provided comprehensive planning for providing shelter to homeless people.

He said the government, private sector and all relevant institutions should utilise available resources for the effective implementation of the National Housing Policy.
