ISLAMABAD, Jun 11 (APP):Coordinator to the Prime Minister on Commerce, Rana Ihsan Afzal Khan on Thursday said the government has put the economy on a stable footing and was now focused on achieving sustainable growth as endeavouring to deliver meaningful relief to the salaried class and encourage exports in the upcomping fiscal budget.
          While speaking to a local media outlet, Rana Ihsan Afzal Khan said the government had taken into account the recommendations and concerns of its coalition partners and other stakeholders while finalizing the federal budget proposals.
         Rana Ihsan said the budget reflected stakeholder recommendations, as consultations with coalition partners were crucial in its finalization, adding, Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N) led government under PM Shehbaz Sharif leadership adopted an inclusive approach to ensure consensus, adding that the budget sought to balance fiscal discipline with public relief while offering expected benefits to the salaried class and exporters.
           He expressed confidence that the budget to be presented by Finance Minister on Friday would be people-friendly and provide relief to the salaried class while introducing supportive measures for the export sector.
           He said the government has successfully stabilized the economy and was now focused on converting that stability into sustainable economic growth.
         He expressed optimism that key economic indicators would continue to improve, creating a more favorable environment for investment, business expansion and job creation.
               Discussing fiscal challenges, he said broadening the tax base remained a top priority, stressing that all sectors must contribute fairly to the national economy.
      Rana Ihsan also underscored the responsibility of provincial governments to enhance their own revenue generation, noting that sustainable economic progress required both the federation and provinces to fully play their respective roles.
           He said collective efforts by the federal and provincial governments were essential to strengthening public finances, improving service delivery and achieving national economic goals.
           He added that greater coordination among all stakeholders would help maintain economic stability and support the country’s growth trajectory.
