Special Education Department launches handicraft training for students with disabilities

ISLAMABAD, Oct 29 (APP):The Department of Special Education has initiated a training program aimed at equipping students with disabilities with practical handicraft skills to promote their self-reliance and economic empowerment.
According to a spokesperson, the programme will be conducted at various special education centers across the province. It focuses on enhancing vocational abilities and encouraging creativity among special students through training in embroidery, stitching, pottery, and other traditional crafts.
Officials said that the initiative is part of the government’s broader efforts to integrate persons with disabilities into mainstream economic activities by providing them with marketable skills and professional training opportunities.
The department has also announced plans to organize exhibitions to showcase the handicraft work of these students and connect them with potential buyers and entrepreneurs.
