ISLAMABAD, Dec 14 (APP): Special Assistant to Prime Minister on Aviation Shujaat Azeem has submitted his resignation to the Prime Minister, said Spokesman Aviation Division Sher Ali Khan in a statement issued Monday evening.
The spokesman said Shujaat Azeem submitted his resignation in the wake of the observations of Supreme Court restraining him from taking “any independent decision” with regard to matters of the Aviation Division.
He said Shujaat Azeem had accepted this responsibility at the request of the Prime Minister on an honorary basis. He was not drawing any salary. The aim was to improve the working of the departments of this Division. Due to his efforts these departments underwent major overhaul and are providing better service to the people.
He said that Shujaat Azeem would submit a full defence privately through his counsel. The court case will be defended and the allegations made against him vigorously contested.
