ISLAMABAD, Oct 1 (APP):Speakers here on Monday have urged that public-private partnership must for the promotion tourism industry across the country as every year two million domestic and foreign tourists visit into the different places of the country.
Talking at PTV news, they have appreciated that first time in the history of the country, the government taking serious steps for the promotion of tourism sector at local level. The government would develop more new 20 tourism places in the different parts of the country, they said.
To a question Chief Executive Officer of LED Ali Tauqeer Zaidi said that the main purpose of tourism development to showcase Pakistan’s natural beauty at international level and save it for the future generation.
He said that tourism have a key role for the economic development of the country and urging on the construction of new hotels, resorts at natural places would attract to more tourists.
Ali Tauqeer supported that social development agenda of government as ten billion tree plantation, 10 million jobs provision to people and protection of climate change. He said that if the government succeed to promote proper tourism industry then around 100 million tourists easily visit in a year.
Tauqeer suggested that government should focus on the development of historical places, religious places, as health and well being tourism promoting at international level in the different countries.
The government should establish state of the art hospitals like Shoukat Khanum to attract more tourists from developing states, he stressed.
He revealed that 105 hotels in Swat are playing key role for the development of domestic tourism very fast at gross roots level.
Dr Nadeem Umar Executive Director C2D, said that true implementation must for tourism development and in this regard local government could promote it at local level. it is need of hour to take practical steps. He said the government should provide the short courses in Hospitality and Tourism for guidance to youth about it. it will be a lucrative business for the local communities, he added. He said that awareness campaign must launch for the guidance to tourists to keep clean and avoid to spread pollution at tourist places.
Abu Zafar Sadiq, President Alpine Club of Pakistan said the government should draw a line to redefine the premises of Federal and Provincial government because so far PTDC is facing many problems.
Now, tourism is provincial subject and task force would pass the recommendation to provinces for the development of this sector. It is the responsibility of government to hold tourism convention at national and international level with all stakeholders as it always promote soft image of the state, he said..
