Speakers at a ceremony held to mark the 37th anniversary of the passing of the founder of the Islamic Revolution, Imam Ruhollah Khomeini, paid tribute to his legacy and emphasized that the Iranian nation continues to remain steadfast in following his vision and ideology while standing firmly against global hegemonic powers.

ISLAMABAD, Jun 02 (APP): Speakers at a ceremony held to mark the 37th anniversary of the passing of the founder of the Islamic Revolution, Imam Ruhollah Khomeini, paid tribute to his legacy and emphasized that the Iranian nation continues to remain steadfast in following his vision and ideology while standing firmly against global hegemonic powers.
The event was organized by the Embassy of Iran in Islamabad and attended by parliamentarians, religious scholars, intellectuals, diplomats, and members of civil society.
Addressing the gathering, speakers highlighted, founder of Islamic revolution of Iran, Hazrat Imam Khomeini’s role in shaping modern Iran and described his teachings as a source of strength and inspiration for the Iranian people.
They said that Imam Khomeini’s philosophy, inspired by the principles of Imam Hussain (AS), has enabled Iran to resist external pressure and play a significant role in supporting oppressed communities, particularly the Palestinian people.
According to the speakers, Iran has emerged as a major force in the Middle East and continues to challenge what they described as the agenda of global powers seeking dominance in the region.
The speakers further stated that Iran has played an important role in countering efforts aimed at reshaping the political landscape of the Middle East and has demonstrated resilience in the face of political, economic, and military challenges. They argued that Iran’s resistance has altered regional dynamics and strengthened the position of countries seeking greater independence in international affairs.

Speaking on the occasion, Iranian Ambassador to Pakistan,Dr. Reza Amiri Moghadam, said that despite the loss of senior leaders and military commanders during periods of conflict, Iran remained determined and united.
He noted that the Iranian nation had not been intimidated by external threats and had continued to pursue its strategic objectives with confidence.
The ambassador said that Iran has consistently advocated dialogue and diplomacy while maintaining its right to defend itself.
He appreciated the efforts of friendly countries, including Pakistan, in supporting peace initiatives and facilitating dialogue during times of regional tension.

 According to him, such efforts contributed positively toward maintaining regional stability.
Ambassador Amiri Moghadam also expressed gratitude to Pakistan’s political and military leadership for their support of peace and constructive engagement.
He praised the Pakistani people for standing in solidarity with Iran during challenging times and described the relationship between the two neighboring countries as strong and historic.
Senator Mushahid Hussain Syed, addressing the gathering, said that Iran’s response to external aggression demonstrated the strength and unity of its people.
He argued that recent developments in the region had significant implications for the international balance of power and had highlighted the growing importance of regional actors in shaping global affairs.
He further stated that Iran has emerged as an influential regional power and noted that Pakistan and Iran have traditionally enjoyed close and friendly relations.

He emphasized the importance of continued cooperation between the two countries in promoting regional peace, stability, and economic development.
Patron-in-Chief of the Shia Ulema Council and founder of Islami Tehreek Pakistan, Allama Sajid Ali Naqvi, said that Imam Khomeini’s vision remains relevant today as a symbol of resistance against oppression and injustice.
He noted that the Iranian nation continues to draw inspiration from his teachings and remains committed to defending the rights of oppressed peoples.
Other speakers, including parliamentarians, scholars, and intellectuals, described Imam Khomeini’s philosophy of steadfastness and self-reliance as a key factor behind Iran’s resilience.
They said that the anniversary served as an opportunity to renew commitment to the ideals of justice, independence, and resistance against oppression, values that continue to guide Iran’s policies and inspire people across the Muslim world.
