Speakers highlights, Rwandan President struggle for country’s liberation, economic prosperity on 31st “Liberation Day”

ISLAMABAD, Jul 5 (APP):The Republic of Rwanda’s 31st ‘Liberation Day’ was held in Islamabad and Speakers highlighted the exemplary and courageous leadership of the President of the Republic of Rwanda, His. Excellency, Paul Kagame and the immense courage and sacrifices made by the Rwandan people for their freedom.
A revolutionary and reformist, Rwandan leader, President H.E Paul Kagame struggle for liberation of his people and at economic front his economic reforms have given Rwanda a prominent status in the African region in modern world, Chief guest of the 31st ‘Liberation Day’ of the Republic of Rwanda, Senator Mushahid Hussain Syed said in his address after the High Commissioner of Rwanda in Pakistan, Her Excellency, Ms. Fatou Harerimana here in a local hotel.

In the Republic of Rwanda’s 31st ‘Liberation Day’ organized by the embassy of Rwanda in Islamabad and Governor Sindh, Mr Kamran Khan Tissori ,Senators and Parliamentarians , Dean of diplomatic Core, Dean of African Core , Ambassador and Rwandan diaspora living in Pakistan also participated in the Ceremony.
Meanwhile addressing the ceremony, Chief guest Senator , Mushahid Hussain Syed said that Rwanda is the fastest growing economy in Africa where the people stand by their leader in the country’s development.

Rwanda is a historic country in Africa and today’s  Rwanda is on the path of peace and development, the credit goes to the leader of the nation, President Paul Kagame.
He said that Pakistan and Rwanda have one thing in common, both faced crises and pushed them back and Similarly, Pakistan and Rwanda successfully fought the aggression of their neighbors.
He said that the future of both countries , Pakistan and Rwanda is very bright to achieve peace and economic prosperity
On the occasion, High Commissioner of Rwanda in Pakistan, Her Excellency, Ms. Fatou Harerimana said that Rwanda was born as a new country on 4th July 1994 that why “We also celebrate our liberation day every 4th July from 1994, after the Genocide against the Tutsi.”

Rwanda celebrates Independence Day every 1st  July and “we celebrate 63 years of independence from 1962.”
Rwanda’s High Commissioner said that after independence, “our country continued suffering the same problem of divisionism and ethnicity thus hindering development and people’s prosperity.”
 “We honour the brave man and women Rwandans of Rwanda Patriotic Army (RPA) who took the strong decision to fight the oppressing government that led the country to Genocide against Tutsi in 1994.”
They paid the highest price to restore dignity of Rwandans and their right to life and they stopped Genocide and liberated the Country on 4th July 1994,She said.
“We will continue to salute them and celebrate this special day and their effort is shining today where Rwanda is the country with security and the Rwanda Defence Force becomes among the highest troop contributors in UN peacekeeping missions.”
The Rwanda High Commissioner said that Rwanda and Pakistan are two friend countries with diplomatic relations multilateral and bilateral in different bonds like defense, health, education, trade and we expect to strengthen and enhance our partnership in agriculture, tourism and cultural, sport, IT, AI, gender etc.
Rwanda is the first country in Africa with the GDP growth from 7.8% in 2025 to 8.9 % in the last year of 2024, the country ranked first clean and green in Africa, the first country in the world to have the highest number of women in the Parliament 63,7%, she said.

She said the choice of the Government of Rwanda is our UNITY, ACCOUNTABILITY AND THINKING BIG and “We remain very sensitive for our unity and resilience.”
 “I thank all Rwandans for the better choice of their Leadership driven by H.E Paul KAGAME the President of the Republic of Rwanda. As we celebrate our achievements after 31 years; Rwanda is currently having the vision 2050 which aspires to elevate the nation to upper-middle income status by 2035 and high-income status by 2050 through achieving sustainable economic growth and ensuring a high-quality life for all Rwandans.”
She said that it is my pleasure and honour today to be with you honourable Senator Mushahid Hussain Syed as our chief guest I thank you for gracing our event;
This important event of celebration of 31ST liberation Day of the Republic of Rwanda, in this regard “I deeply thank the people and the Government of the Islamic Republic of Pakistan for the warm welcome and hospitality provided to the Rwandese since we arrived here in June 2024.”
The Rwandan Liberation Day ceremony began with the music and dance of the Rwandan Cultural Group and at the end of the ceremony, the cultural troupe once again showcased their country’s culture through music and dance.
