ISLAMABAD, Nov 20 (APP):During the concluding session of an international conference at Allama Iqbal Open University (AIOU), the speakers highlighted the emerging new trends of research, underscoring the role of chemistry in driving sustainable national growth.
The two-day 7th International Conference on “Recent Trends in Chemistry” concluded successfully at AIOU here Thursday. This year’s central theme, “Chemistry for a Sustainable Future: From Research to Practical Impact,” played a significant role in highlighting new trends in scientific research at both national and international levels, said a press release on Thursday.
“The conference was attended by eminent researchers, scientists, educationists, and industry experts from around the world. The sessions featured detailed discussions on modern research, innovations, technological advancements, and their practical applications across various fields of chemistry. Participants effectively presented recent developments in energy, environment, materials science, green chemistry, pharmaceuticals, biotechnology, and industrial chemistry,” it added.
The closing ceremony was presided over by the Dean of the Faculty of Sciences, Prof. Dr Sher Muhammad. In his address, he said that the conference not only achieved all its objectives but also clearly defined new directions for future research.
He emphasized that finding sustainable scientific solutions is the need of the hour for the nation’s progress.
Expressing regret, Dr. Sher Muhammad said“Unfortunately, we have not been able to take our country to the place we once dreamed of. If we ourselves do not take steps for the nation’s development, no one else will come to do it. This country belongs to us, and it is our responsibility to set it on the path of progress.”
He congratulated the Chairman of the Chemistry Department and his entire team and the Vice Chancellor, Prof. Dr Nasir Mahmood, on the successful organization of the conference.
Speeches were also delivered by Dr. Muhammad Sher, Head of Chemistry; Prof. Dr Najm-ul-Haq; Prof. Dr Arshad Mahmood Qureshi; Dr Muhammad Naeem; and Aram Jabeen.
At the end, certificates were distributed among participants and partner organizations.
