ISLAMABAD, Jan 05 (APP):Opposition Chief Whip Amir Dogar met National Assembly Speaker Sardar Ayaz Sadiq to discuss the appointment of the Opposition Leader in the National Assembly.
During the meeting, Amir Dogar presented documents regarding the withdrawal of cases related to former Opposition Leader Omar Ayub from the courts. He also reiterated demand for Mahmood Achakzai to be appointed as the Opposition Leader.
In response, Speaker Sardar Ayaz Sadiq emphasized that all proceedings will be conducted strictly in accordance with rules, laws, and the Constitution. He further stated that he will inform the House about this matter in the upcoming session of the National Assembly.
The Speaker clarified that the process for appointing the Opposition Leader will be initiated afresh, and reiterated that the rules of the National Assembly regarding the appointment of the Opposition Leader are clear.
