Speaker Ayaz Sadiq names Mehmood Achakzai as leader of opposition

ISLAMABAD, Jan 16 (APP):National Assembly Speaker Sardar Ayaz Sadiq on Friday formally notified Mehmood Khan Achakzai as Leader of the Opposition in the Lower House of Parliament.

The notification, issued by the National Assembly Secretariat, stated that the appointment was made under Rule 39 of the Rules of Procedure and Conduct of Business in the National Assembly, 2007. Achakzai will assume the role with immediate effect.
