Soldier martyred during Pak-Afghan tensions laid to rest with full military honours in Haripur

HARIPUR, Feb 28 (APP):A Pakistan Army soldier who embraced martyrdom during ongoing Pak-Afghan tensions was laid to rest with full military honours in his native village of Ganhari (Kakotri) on Saturday.
Sepoy Saud Khan was martyred in the Tangrai sector of Miranshah during an exchange of fire while performing his duties. His funeral prayer was attended by a large number of local political and social figures, area elders, residents, and officers and soldiers of the Pakistan Army.
A smartly turned-out contingent of the Pakistan Army presented a formal salute to the martyr, and his coffin, draped in the national flag, was carried to the graveyard with full military protocol.
Speaking to media persons on the occasion, local residents paid tribute to the fallen soldier, stating that he had rendered the ultimate sacrifice in defense of the homeland. They emphasized that such sacrifices would not go in vain and that the nation would always remember the services of its martyrs.
According to sources, Sepoy Saud Khan had been serving in the Pakistan Army for the past seven years. He was laid to rest amid tearful scenes following the funeral prayer.
