ISLAMABAD, Jul 24 (APP):The funeral prayers of a retired government official and his daughter, who were swept away by floodwaters earlier this week in a private housing society, will be offered on Thursday evening at Masjid Noor, Islamabad.
According to the family, both victims’ bodies have been recovered from the Soan River following a two-day search operation conducted by police, Rescue 1122, and divers. The funeral will take place after Maghrib prayers, and friends, relatives, and members of the public have been requested to attend and pray for the departed souls.
The tragic incident occurred on Tuesday during heavy monsoon rainfall when their vehicle stalled near a stormwater drain and was swept away by the current. Their bodies were recovered separately during the search operation that continued into Thursday.
