Sino-Pak friendship immortal: Pervaiz Elahi

LAHORE, Jan 10 (APP):Acting Punjab Governor Chaudhry Pervaiz Elahi here on Thursday said the ties between Pakistan and China were as old as mountains and immortal as these had stood the test of time.During a meeting with the Chinese Ambassador Yao Jing who called on him at the Governor's House, he said China had always stood by Pakistan in hour of need be at some natural calamity, economic challenge or a war.
The Acting Governor said Chine Pakistan Economic Corridor (CPEC) was a backbone of country's economy and all projects must be completed within the shortest possible time, adding that Pakistan enjoyed conspicuous status in the region due to the CPEC. He said, "China supports Pakistan's principled diplomatic stance on all international forums including the Kashmir issue."
The Acting Governor said that Prime Minister Imran Khan was playing his due role for the maintenance of peace and ensuring economic progress in the region. Ch Pervaiz Elahi said Pak China relations guaranteed durable peace in the region.
Speaking on the occasion, Chinese Ambassador Yao Jing said that Pakistan was the second home to him and he was happy to be in Pakistan. He said that China wished to set up a garments plant in the Sunder Industrial Estate which was established by Chaudhry Pervaiz Elahi during his tenure as Punjab Chief Minister.
The Ambassador hailed Chaudhry Pervaiz Elahi's role in the progress of Punjab, adding that China valued the services rendered by Elahi for the development of the province. Mr. Jing also welcomed the sentiments expressed by former prime minister Chaudhry Shujaat Hussain about China, adding that PML-Q President considered China his second home.
