Sindh Governor for revised travel advisory regarding Pakistan

KARACHI, Jan 31 (APP):Sindh Governor Muhammad Zubair has called upon the French government to review the “travel advisory” for its nationals with regard to Pakistan.
Talking to Marc Barety, the French Ambassador to Pakistan in a
meeting here Wednesday, the Governor said restoration of peace and marked improvement in the country’s law and order situation has turned the country a prominent destination for tourists as well as investors.
It may therefor be prudent that countries like France encourage
their citizens, particularly investors, to avail of opportunities in
Pakistan, said Muhammad Zubair.
Discussing in detail the existent trade relations between France
and Pakistan and the contribution made by the latter in the war
against terrorism, he said situation in Pakistan is much different
than what it was in 2013.
Sindh Governor particularly invited French investors to visit
Karachi, a major commercial hub in the region and see for themselves
the existent opportunities.
“There is definitely an urgent need to revise the travel advisory
issued regarding Pakistan so as to revive confidence of the people,”
he said emphasizing the importance of people to people contact.
He also referred to relevance of China Pakistan Economic Corridor
that has been recognized by the world in general as a game changer for
Pakistan as well as other countries in the region.
“A new era of economic prosperity and trade boom is fast on its
way through CPEC,” said Governor Muhammad emphasizing that this would
definitely help elimination of poverty and deprivation, often identified
as a cause of terrorism.
He on the occasion also appreciated role played by Ambassador
Marc Barety in bringing Pakistan and France closer to one another.
The French Ambassador on the occasion said his country was keen
to help contribute towards socio-economic and political stability in
the South Asian region.
Relations with Pakistan, he said were of immense importance for
France and therefore concerted efforts were being made to further
strengthen them on solid grounds.
“Economic stability in Pakistan is equally important for regional
development,” said Ambassador Marc Barety.
