Member of the Board of Governors (BoG) of Blood Chain Pakistan, Engr. Kamran Khan told APP that the organization is operating across the country and has deputed more than 50 volunteers at the central location in Islamabad to support the cause.
He emphasized the importance of blood donation, stating that donors undergo major screening tests, including blood grouping and screening for Hepatitis B and C, HIV/AIDS, syphilis, and malaria, which help them assess their own health status.
He further highlighted the health benefits of blood donation, saying it helps regulate body weight and reduces the risk of heart attacks and other life-threatening diseases. “Blood donation is Sadqa-e-Jaria, and a single donation can save up to three lives,” he added.
Engr Kamran Khan urged the public to donate blood every three months to maintain good health and support those in need. He appealed to citizens to actively participate in this noble cause.
A large number of people visited the camp and voluntarily donated blood. Free screening for five major tests was also provided to all blood donors.
