Siddiqui stresses education as foundation for progress

ISLAMABAD, Nov 12 (APP):Federal Minister for Education and Professional Training, Khalid Maqbool Siddiqui, on Wednesday stated that education marks the first step toward the country’s development and emphasized that the true test for students begins as they enter the professional world.
Addressing the convocation of Allama Iqbal Open University (AIOU) as chief guest, Khalid Maqbool Siddiqui urged the successful graduates to continue their pursuit of knowledge in their professional lives.
He emphasized that learning should not end with academic achievement, but must remain a lifelong struggle in practical fields.
Congratulating the graduates, the Federal Minister emphasized that their success is a testament to their dedication, hard work, and the quali­ty education provided by Allama Iqbal Open University, along with the ef­forts and competence of its teachers.He urged them to adapt to contem­porary changes to contribute effec­tively to the country’s progress.
During the convocation , the Vice Chancellor extended special congratulations to the medal recipients, emphasizing that their achievements and honors stand as a source of national pride.
He revealed that approximately five million students have graduated from the university to date.He said  that the university playing a key role in imparting education to the people, especially in remote areas of the country and deserving  Students.
A total of 800 male and female students were conferred degrees for successfully completing their academic programs while Gold, Silver and Bronze medals were awarded to those who demonstrated outstanding performance.
The ceremony was attended by Secretary of Education Acting Chairman Higher Education Commission Nadeem Mahbub, Vice Chancellors of various universities, faculty members and distinguished social and political figures.
