Muhammad Ali Randhawa, Director General of Immigration and Passports, was the chief guest at the ceremony.
Mr Randhawa appreciated Team Shifa for its commitment to providing modern and quality healthcare.
Recalling his recent personal experience at the hospital when his mother was admitted, he praised the professionalism, compassion and quality of care provided by the medical and support teams.
Highlighting the importance of the Pakistani passport, he said it was not merely a travel document but also a symbol of Pakistani citizenship, dignity and sovereignty.
He said every genuine Pakistani passport carried the country’s honour across the world.
Mr Randhawa congratulated the nation on the 79th Independence Day and the Makkah Joint Defense Agreement. He described the agreement as an important milestone that strengthened collective security and brotherly ties with Saudi Arabia and Türkiye.
Dr Zeeshan Bin Ishtiaque, Chief Executive Officer of Shifa International Hospitals, highlighted the importance of this year’s Independence Day celebrations.
“True to the spirit of service, Shifa’s healthcare heroes stand ready every day to support the people of Pakistan with skill, resilience and an unwavering sense of duty,” he said.
He said the Makkah Joint Defense Agreement was a source of national pride and would strengthen Pakistan’s security and unity.
Dr Zeeshan called on the participants to renew their pledge to serve the country with integrity and excellence.
The ceremony concluded with patriotic slogans and a collective resolve to serve the nation with compassion and a strong sense of national spirit.
