Sheikh Rashid felicitates newly elected office bearers of APNS

ISLAMABAD, Apr 1 (APP):Minister for Railways Sheikh Rashid Ahmed Monday congratulated Hameed Haroon and Syed Sarmad Ali on their election as President and Secretary General of the All Pakistan Newspapers Society (APNS), respectively.

In his message, Sheikh Rashid Ahmed said that reposing confidence in the leadership of Hameed Haroon and Syed Sarmad Ali by APNS members manifested media industry’s confidence and trust on their leadership.

Sheikh Rashid hoped that the newly elected APNS will strive hard for ensuring responsible and meaningful journalism adding that the Government-Media relations would grow stronger during the tenure of new body, said a press release.

Minister said that the newly elected President, Secretary General and other office holders of APNS enjoy vast experience and expertise in the matters related to media industry and hoped that the newly elected body would help steering Pakistani media into the modern age. 
He said that new APNS members would ensure constructive dialogue with the Government in the best interest of media and people of Pakistan.
