ISLAMABAD, Sep 3 (APP): Punjab Chief Minister Muhammad
Shehbaz Sharif Friday called for strict punishment to MQM leader Altaf Hussain for giving anti-Pakistan remarks.
Talking in aprogram of private news channel, he said a case
should be proceeded against Altaf Hussain according to the law and constitution after bringing him to Pakistan.
He said, as Muttahida Qaumi Movement (MQM) was a political party, action should not be taken against it.
Pakistan enjoyed good relations with United Kingdom (UK)
government and we hoped they would cooperate with Pakistan for perusing case against him.
Commenting on Pakistan Tehreek-i-Insaf (PTI) protest rally,
he said protesters were not happy with progress and development in the country due to prudent policies of the PML-N leadership.
He said the PML-N government was not feared with protests
and rallies by PTI as support of the masses are with us.
He said the present government had launched several power
projects to end load-shedding. The government had saved
billions of rupees in power and other development projects due to transparency.
The CM said the people were aware about the facts on Panama Papers allegations on Prime Minister and his family but Imran Khan was doing politics on the issue. He said Imran himself owned a offshore company but he never made it clear to the public.
He said Imran was protecting his corrupt companions in the
wake of Panama papers.
Shehbaz Sharif said the Prime Minister appeared before the
people twice to clarify himself on Panama papers despite the fact that his name was not mentioned in the list.
The opposition parties were not serious from the day first
to formulate Terms of Reference (ToR) on Panama papers enquiry.
He said PTI’s sit-in had delayed visit of Chinese President
to Pakistan and halted China-Pakistan Economic Corridor (CPEC) like development projects.
Shehbaz Sharif said Orange Line Train was a mega project of
public welfare and it would be completed. He said we respect the decision of High Court on the project, however we would go to the Supreme Court.
Orange Line project would provide modern transport
facilities to the commuters he said and added Punjab government saved Rs 80 billion while giving tender.
