ISLAMABAD, Dec 31 (APP): The Shaheen Chowk Underpass has been completed at an exceptional pace and to the highest standards, marking a major milestone in the capital’s ongoing development drive. The underpass has now been formally opened for traffic.
Federal Interior Minister Mohsin Naqvi visited the project site on Monday, accompanied by Minister of State for Interior Talal Chaudhry. Speaking to the media, Naqvi praised the quality of construction and congratulated the entire team for completing the project ahead of schedule.
“I commend the team for delivering this underpass before the deadline and maintaining the topmost standards,” the interior minister said.
Naqvi disclosed that 18 development projects, costing Rs 15 billion, have recently been completed in Islamabad. He further announced that double this number of projects will be completed next year as part of an accelerated development plan for the federal capital.
Highlighting future initiatives, the minister revealed that Islamabad will soon have a world-class, state-of-the-art cricket stadium. “The advertisement for the stadium project has already been issued,” he added.
The interior minister also announced a 15-day extension for installing M-Tags on vehicles entering Islamabad. Minister of State Talal Chaudhry will formally issue the notification regarding the extension, Naqvi said.
