ISLAMABAD, Dec 29 (APP): The Shaheen Chowk Underpass, a key infrastructure project aimed at easing congestion in the capital, has been completed ahead of schedule.
Interior Minister Mohsin Naqvi visited the site on Monday to review final preparations, including road carpeting and finishing work.
During the inspection, the minister also assessed the landscaping and horticulture components of the project. He directed Capital Development Authority (CDA) officials to further enhance plantation in the surrounding areas to improve the corridor’s overall appearance.
Minister Naqvi announced that the underpass will be opened to traffic on December 31, noting that the facility will provide lasting relief from chronic traffic bottlenecks and significantly improve mobility for daily commuters.
The Chairman CDA briefed the interior minister on the project’s progress and technical details. The visit was attended by senior officials, including the IG Islamabad Police, Member Engineering CDA, and other relevant authorities.
