Shahbaz vows to erode darkness

LAHORE, Nov 27 (APP): Chief Minister Punjab Muhammad Shehbaz Sharif Friday reiterated the government resolve to overcome energy crisis by 2017.
“Work of various power projects is underway expeditiously to rid the country of darkness,” he added.He stated this while chairing a meeting held to review progress in under-construction power projects. Addressing the meeting, the Chief Minister said power crisis had adversely affected all sectors of economy and to keep industrial wheel on mega power projects had been initiated. He said, gas-based power projects would accomplish in minimum possible time which add 3,600 Mega Watt electricity to the national grid.
He said, work on the 1,320 coal power plant in Sahiwal was being carried out on war footing.
Shehbaz said, the PML-N led government would not compromise over transparency and fair allocation of funds in the projects. “The government have saved at least Rs 110
billion by maintaining transparency in different gas
projects,” he said, adding that the plant being completed with
the cooperation China would start generating electricity by
2017.
The Chief Minister praised the administration and said no
previous government saved as much national resources as the PML-N.
