Senator pays tribute to President on his address to both houses

ISLAMABAD, Sept 9 (APP): Senators on Friday appreciated the achievements under operation Zarb e Azb for maintaining peace and tranquillity across the country.

Participation in the discussion, the members said that the President had set direction for the country during his address to both houses assembled together on 1st June, 2016 and implementation on the points highlighted in the speech could improve the living standard of public and resolving challenges being faced by country.

They said the restoration of peace in the country would help in economic development of the country.

Participating in debate, Senator Tahir Hussain Mashhadi said President had given his vision in his speech and set future direction for the government. The operation Zarb e Azb, he said, was moving forward successfully and restoring peace across the country.

He said there was a need to take further steps to overcome energy crisis in Pakistan that was necessary for economic revival.

Javed Abbasi said the Presidential address was comprehensive and balanced that covered the national and international challenges being faced by country.

He said operation Zarb e Azb was continue successfully and the terrorism incidents have been controlled under this, saying that the sacrifices of forces and Pakistani people wouldn’t go wasted.

Senator Lt. Gen ® Abdul Qayyum said the President had covered all subject in his address to both houses. The President had also lauded the government’s steps to reinvigorate the national economy, he said.

He said We need national unity to face the challenges of security and others in light of the suggestion given by the President in his address.

He underlined the importance to introduce reforms in judicial system besides reforms in FATA.

He said the process of repatriation of Afghan immigrants should be fastened.

Senator Noman Wazir said the whole region would benefit from China Pakistan Economic Corridor (CPEC).

He said the Presidential address had provided outlines for the government for one year.

Ghous Muhammad Niazi said the country’s economy was moving on right direction, saying that the current government had inherited number of problems from previous government.

He said tax net had been increased by improving the performance of tax machinery. He said CPEC would be proved as game changer for the region.

Senator Usman Khan Kakar said the President was a symbol of federation who provide guidelines for the government on various issues.

All positive and negative aspects of the performance of the government should be part of the Presidential address, he said.

Muhammad Ali Saif said the nation had political wisdom and very aware about the politicians who are sincere to the country.
