ISLAMABAD, Oct 23 (APP):Deputy Chairman Senate Syedaal Khan on Thursday said that the Senate is the only institution that provides equal representation to all federating units, ensuring that the voice of every region is heard and reflected in the formulation of national policies.
Addressing participants of the National Workshop Balochistan (17th Session) at a reception held in their honor, he said that the Senate of Pakistan stands as a true symbol of federal unity, institutional harmony, and provincial equality.
Congratulating the organizers and participants on successfully conducting the workshop, the Deputy Chairman said that the National Workshop Balochistan serves as an important platform for understanding the challenges faced by the province and exploring sustainable solutions.
He emphasized that such initiatives also play a crucial role in strengthening national cohesion and inter-provincial understanding.
The Deputy Chairman reiterated that the Senate has always prioritized the issues of the people of Balochistan. The development of Pakistan’s largest province—particularly in the areas of education, employment, infrastructure, and social welfare—remains a central focus of the Senate’s legislative and policy agenda.
He noted that various parliamentary committees of the Senate continue to work on issues linked to Balochistan’s socio-economic progress, empowerment of its people, and equitable access to development opportunities.
Highlighting the province’s contributions to national stability, Syedaal Khan said that the people of Balochistan have made remarkable sacrifices for Pakistan’s unity and progress.
“The Senate reaffirms its unwavering commitment that the development of Balochistan is synonymous with the development of Pakistan. A strong federation is one where every province feels included in the decision-making process and equally shares in national progress,” he added.
He further stated that programs such as the National Workshop Balochistan play a pivotal role in nurturing future leaders by providing them with a deeper understanding of governance, national policies, and institutional dynamics.
“You are the future builders of Pakistan. I am confident that the knowledge and experience you have gained through this workshop will empower you to contribute effectively towards the progress and prosperity of your respective institutions, communities, and the nation,” he remarked.
Concluding his address, Deputy Chairman Senate Syedaal Khan expressed hope that the National Workshop Balochistan would serve as a milestone in promoting national integration, public participation, and Pakistan’s stability.
