Senate passes resolution to pay tributes to Dr Allama Iqbal

ISLAMABAD, Nov 9 (APP): Senate on Monday unanimously passed a resolution to pay tribute to great national poet and philosopher Dr Allama Muhammad Iqbal.
The resolution was moved by leader of the House in Senate Raja
Zafarul Haq in connection with the Iqbal day observed on November 9.
In the resolution, he said, legacy of Dr Allama Iqbal was not confined
to Pakistan only but has universal appeal for Ummah and the suffering community.
He said Iqbal gave a vision for a free homeland for Muslims of the
sub-continent.
He said Dr Allama Iqbal was of the hope that inspired millions of
people through his creative writing.
He said Dr Allama Iqbal accumulated hope for the next generation,
adding that the national poet through his writing had guided to make Pakistan a better state where people could live with dignity and self-respect.
Lawmakers from government and opposition also paid tributes to Dr
Allama Muhammad Iqbal.
