Senate adopts Interior Committee’s report about general elections

ISLAMABAD, Oct 10 (APP):The Senate on Wednesday adopted a report of Standing Committee on Interior on conduct of free, fair and transparent elections as well as security of General Elections, 2018.
Following a motion under Rule 196 (1) of the Rules of Procedure and Conduct of Business in Senate 2012, the House considered and adopted the final report (Volume-IV) of the Standing Committee on Interior on conduct of free, fair and transparent Elections/Security of General Elections, 2018. The report was earlier presented in the House on October 5, 2018 and had been considered and adopted following a motion under Rule 196 (1) moved by Chairman Standing Committee on Interior Senator Abdul Rehman Malik.
Earlier, Chairperson, Standing Committee on Parliamentary Affairs Sassui Palijo informed the House about consideration on he Members of Parliament (Salaries and Allowances) (Amendment) Bill, 2018. However, the bill was withdrawn by the its mover Senator Sitara Ayaz which she moved earlier on February 19, 2018.
The House adopted a motion under Rule 194 (1) granting extension of 90 working days to Special Committee for presentation of its report on the issue of increasing incidents of child abuse.
Another motion passed by House under Rule 194 (1) also granted extension of 60 working days to Standing Committee on Federal Education and Professional Training for presentation of report on the Area Study Centres (Amendment) Bill, 2017. The same bill was introduced by Senator Syed Muzafar Hussain Shah on December 18, 2017.
