Seminar held at IIUI in connection with World Environment Day 2025

ISLAMABAD, Jun 02 (APP): An informative and thought-provoking seminar was organized at the International Islamic University Islamabad (IIUI) in commemoration of World Environment Day 2025.
The event was jointly organized by the Green Youth Movement (GYM) Club – IIUI, the Directorate of Students Affairs (Male), and the Institute of Urbanism, Islamabad.
The combined efforts of Dr. Hafiz Ghufran Ahmad (Students’ Advisor), Dr. Hafiz Muhammad Naseer (Focal Person, GYM Club IIUI), and representatives of the Institute of Urbanism made this event a landmark occasion in promoting environmental awareness and student engagement.
The seminar was held in the Auditorium of Block No. 2 (Male Campus) and was attended by a large number of male students, class representatives, and male & female faculty members from various departments and faculties.
Renowned environmentalists, urban planners, and academic professionals participated as guest speakers and panelists, emphasizing the urgent need to adopt eco-friendly practices and raise environmental awareness among the youth.
The audience actively engaged in the Q&A session, showing keen interest in the seminar themes.
In his concluding remarks, Dr. Hafiz Muhammad Naseer praised the students’ active participation and stressed the significance of youth involvement in environmental conservation.
Dr. Hafiz Ghufran Ahmad expressed satisfaction with the event’s success and encouraged organizing similar awareness activities in the future.
The seminar featured a well-received presentation by Ms. Tayyaba Pervez and insightful contributions from panelists including Dr. Muhammad Irfan Khan, Dr. Ejaz, and Mr. Ashiq Nawaz (Director, Environmental Impact Assessment – EIA).
Special thanks were extended to Dr. Mushtaq Ahmed (Dean, Faculty of Sciences), Dr. Syeda Maria Ali (Chairperson, Department of Environmental Science), Dr. Islamuddin, and Dr. Zafeer Saqib for their guidance and presence.
