Upon his arrival, he received a warm and dignified welcome from the workers and union representatives, said a press release.
The convention witnessed enthusiastic participation from a large number of workers, reflecting their confidence in the government’s worker-centric welfare initiatives.
Addressing the gathering, Zulfiqar Ahmad said that he had visited the convention on the directions of Federal Minister for Overseas Pakistanis and Human Resource Development, Chaudhry Salik Hussain, and the Federal Secretary, Ministry of Overseas Pakistanis and Human Resource Development, Nadeem Aslam Chaudhry, to engage directly with workers and address their concerns.
He assured the participants that all genuine issues faced by workers would be resolved on a priority basis.
He also announced that a state-of-the-art housing colony would be developed for workers to provide them and their families with quality and dignified living facilities.
Highlighting the government’s commitment to workers’ welfare, the Secretary said, the children of workers are our children. Their education, healthcare, and housing remain the foremost priorities of the Workers Welfare Fund.
He added that the initiatives undertaken during the current tenure are unprecedented and have no parallel in the past.
Zulfiqar Ahmad further stated that these reforms and welfare measures are being implemented in line with the vision of Federal Minister Chaudhry Salik Hussain, aimed at ensuring improved education, healthcare, housing, and social protection for the country’s workforce and their families.
Emphasising institutional reforms, he said that the Workers Welfare Fund has adopted a policy based on transparency, merit, accountability, and efficient service delivery.
He reiterated that all welfare schemes are being implemented through a transparent mechanism to ensure that every deserving worker receives benefits fairly and without discrimination.
On the occasion, President of the CBA Union, FFC, Nasir Bajwa, thanked Secretary Workers Welfare Fund Zulfiqar Ahmad on behalf of all union office-bearers and workers for attending the convention and engaging directly with the workforce.
