ISLAMABAD, Apr 4 (APP):National Assembly Standing Committee on Cabinet Secretariat was briefed by the Secretaries of Establishment, Cabinet, National Security and Aviation Divisions regarding their functions and organizational structure and the autonomous/attached departments under their respective Divisions.
The meeting of the committee was held on Thursday under Chairmanship of Syed Amin-ul-Haque, MNA, here at Parliament House .
The Committee appreciated the working of all the Divisions under Cabinet Secretariat, however, decided to have a comprehensive briefing separately on all the Divisions and their autonomous/attached departments in its next meetings.
The Committee, after briefing by the Secretary, Aviation Division, expressed its concern on the financial state of the National Flag Carrier and desired a briefing on the business plan for revival of the Airline.
The Secretary informed the Committee that the Prime Minister was being briefed on the PIA business plan and the same would be shared with the Committee.
The Committee termed the incentives given by the government in National Aviation Policy, 2019, a way forward for encouraging tourism and facilitating domestic travel in the country.
The Committee later discussed the Constitution (Amendment) Bill, 2018 Amendment of (Article 27) (moved by Ms. Aliya Kamran, MNA); and the Federal Public Service Commission (Validation of Rules) Ordinance, 2018 (Ord. No. XII of 2018) and pended further discussion on both the Bills for its next meeting.
MNAs including Saleem Rehman, Sher Ali Arbab, Ali Nawaz Awan, Tahir Sadiq, Khawaja Sheraz Mehmood, Muhammad Aslam Khan, Ms. Uzma Riaz, Muhammad Hashim, Rasheed Ahmad Khan, Rana Iradat Sharif Khan, Ms. Shahnaz Saleem Malik, Ms. Seema Mohiuddin Jameeli, Syed Mehmood Shah, Ms. Aliya Kamran, Secretaries of the Cabinet, Establishment, Aviation, National Security Divisions and Senior Officers of the concerned departments attended the meeting.
