ISLAMABAD, Oct 21 (APP):The second meeting of the National Ulama and Mashaikh Council will be held tomorrow in Islamabad under the chairmanship of the Federal Minister for Religious Affairs, Sardar Muhammad Yousuf.
The meeting aims to identify and consult on various social problems with Islamic scholars and to discuss the establishment of a consultative body for the council.
It may be mentioned that Sardar Muhammad Yousuf convened the first meeting of the council four months ago, with the objective of reactivating the council established during the previous regime.
The second meeting of the council will emphasize the importance of the basic pillars of Islam and their practice and promotion in society.
The council includes representation from prominent scholars of all schools of thought, as well as the ministers for religious affairs from all provinces, Azad Jammu and Kashmir, and Gilgit-Baltistan.
