ISLAMABAD, Jul 21 (APP):The Sustainable Development Policy Institute (SDPI) and Pathfinder International have signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) aimed at fostering collaboration in areas of mutual interest including public health, climate resilience, gender equity, social protection, and urban resilience.
The MoU sets out a framework for future cooperation between the two organizations, recognizing the synergies in their missions to support inclusive and sustainable development, especially among marginalized and vulnerable communities, said a press release issued here on Monday.
SDPI, an Islamabad-based policy research think tank, and Pathfinder International, a global non-governmental organization with over six decades of experience in health systems strengthening and women’s empowerment, expressed the intentions to work jointly on evidence-based policy innovation and community-driven initiatives.
The two sides will collaborate on thematic areas such as reproductive health, resilience to climate-induced challenges, urban policy reform, and social equity.
“This partnership reflects SDPI’s commitment to advancing cross-sectoral collaboration to promote inclusive development solutions in Pakistan,” said Dr. Abid Qaiyum Suleri, Executive Director of SDPI. “Together with Pathfinder, we hope to deepen the policy conversation around health, gender, and climate resilience through research and action,” he . added.
Pathfinder International emphasized the value of leveraging SDPI’s strong policy research platform to amplify community-based health and gender equity programs. “Our shared vision is to strengthen systems that protect and empower communities, especially women and youth, in the face of climate and social vulnerabilities,” said a Pathfinder representative.
