ISLAMABAD, Feb 25 (APP): The Supreme Court of Pakistan on Wednesday adjourned the hearing of the implementation proceedings related to former Managing Director of Pakistan Television, Ataul Haq Qasmi.
A two-member bench headed by Justice Naeem Akhtar Afghan took up the case. During the hearing, Advocate Kashif Malik appeared on behalf of Ataul Haq Qasmi and Fawad Hassan Fawad.
The counsel submitted that the Supreme Court’s original judgment had been set aside in review proceedings. At this, Justice Naeem Akhtar Afghan remarked that the court was not aware of any review petition having been allowed.
He observed that while the court had full confidence in the counsel, a copy of the review judgment should be provided to the bench.
Justice Naeem Akhtar Afghan inquired which bench had accepted the review petition. The counsel responded that the decision was likely authored by former Chief Justice Qazi Faez Isa.
The court observed that the Attorney General should be summoned in the matter.
Justice Naeem Akhtar Afghan remarked that the Attorney General would be asked whether the case was to be pursued further or not.
Subsequently, the court adjourned further hearing of the case.
