KSA limit Hajj pilgrims, only citizens of Kingdom to perform hajj: Saudi ministry

ISLAMABAD, June 12 (APP): Saudi Arabia Saturday announced that only citizens and residents of the Kingdom would be able to perform Hajj this year.

Keeping in view the Corona Virus situation, the decision has been taken to limit Hajj pilgrimage this year to 60,000 and only for its citizens and residents, Saudi ministries of health and Hajj announced today.

It stressed that those were desiring to perform Hajj must be free of any chronic diseases, should be vaccinated and fall within the age limits from 18 to 65 years, Arab news reported.

The decision is “based on the Kingdom’s constant keenness to enable the maximum numbers of pilgrims at the Grand Mosque and the Prophet’s Mosque to perform the Islamic rituals of Hajj and Umrah,” the ministry said. “The Kingdom puts human health and safety first.” The hajj begins mid-July.
