ISLAMABAD, Oct 24 (APP):Federal Minister for Information and Broadcasting, Chaudhry Fawad Hussain on Wednesday said the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia had always supported and stood by Pakistan in every difficult hour.
Talking to a private news channel, he said it was a big package announced by Saudi Arabia for Pakistan, adding the economic support would help steer the country out of the current situation.
Pakistan holds strategic, defence and economic relations with Saudi Arabia, and the latter wanted to see this country progressing in every field, he added.
Commenting on the role of Pakistan as an arbitrator between Saudi Arabia and Yamen, he said the request, in this regard, was made from the Opposition of Yemen, during the previous trip of the PM to Holy places.
Fawad said Saudi Arabia’s economy, despite all the challenges, was much better as compared to others.
Prime Minister Imran Khan would have discussion with China and Malaysia during his upcoming visit to these countries, he said and hoped that Pakistan would attain ‘a bailout package’ from the friendly countries like Malaysia and China too.
A delegation from UAE was also visiting Pakistan, he added.
He said Balochistan was rich in mineral resources and 400 billion dollar investment could be made in exploring the natural resources in the province.
The minister said Armco and Aqua groups were coming to Pakistan for seeking investment opportunities.
He said Pakistan Stock Exchange and rupee value was showing upward trend. After Zulfikar Ali Bhutto, Pakistan was going to play a vital role in the Middle East, he added.
To a question, he said money laundering was an alarming issue, and efforts were being made to control that heinous activity.
He said masses would have to face a little difficulty in the shape of tariff increase in power sector but the situation would improve in days to come.
Replying to another question, he said the prime minister was going to announce two packages soon.
The federal minister said housing project for low income group and a package for poorest would help improve the life of the common man.
He urged the media to support the steps of PTI government including clean Pakistan, housing scheme and package for poors.
