According to Saudi Press Agency (SPA), the helicopters were operating under the General Directorate for Health Services of the Saudi Ministry of Defense as part of integrated healthcare and emergency response arrangements across the holy sites.

The air medical evacuation teams were working in coordination with field hospitals, medical centers and ambulance units to ensure rapid response and timely transfer of critical patients during the Hajj season.

SPA told APP that the specialized helicopters are equipped with advanced medical facilities and emergency care systems to provide immediate treatment while transporting patients.
Authorities said the air evacuation service continues transporting patients both within Saudi Arabia and to other required locations as part of broader efforts to ensure advanced healthcare services for pilgrims.
Saudi authorities have mobilized comprehensive medical, emergency and rescue capabilities during Hajj to help pilgrims perform rituals safely and comfortably.
