ISLAMABAD, Sept 4 (APP): Adviser to the Prime Minster on
Foreign Affairs Sartaj Aziz Sunday met Minister Responsible for Foreign Affairs of Sultanate of Oman Yusuf Bin Alawai Bin Abdullah and discussed strengthening of bilateral ties up to the existing potential.

Sartaj Aziz was on a two day bilateral visit to Muscat
from September 3 4 at the invitation of Yusuf Bin Alawai Bin
Abdullah, said a Foreign Office statement received here.

The Adviser and the Omani Foreign Minister held an
in depth discussion focusing on the entire spectrum of bilateral relations in an hour long session, followed by a joint press stakeout.

While appreciating the unique and historically friendly
relations as a firm basis, the two dignitaries expressed their commitment to intensify exchanges and cooperation to realize full potential of the geographical and maritime proximity that complimented Pakistan and Oman.

Earlier, Sartaj Aziz delivered a lecture on Prime Minister
Nawaz Sharif’s vision for ‘Peaceful Neighborhood” at the Diplomatic Institute and separately discussed defence and security relations with the Minister Responsible for Defence.

The Adviser also delivered a keynote speech at the
‘Trade and Investment Promotion Event’ organized by the Embassy of Pakistan that was attended by prominent businessmen as well as Chief of Investment Fund of the State General Reserve Fund, Chairman Oman Chambers of Commerce and Industry, public and private print and electronic media as well as an international publication.

Sartaj Aziz met Adviser to His Majesty on External
Liaison Dr Omar bin Abdul Muinim al Zawawi and exchanged views on bilateral cooperation and regional situation.

He also laid the foundation stone of Pakistan Embassy and
Residence Complex in an impressive event mutually prepared by the Mission and the Pakistani community.

The Adviser extended an invitation to the Omani Minister
Responsible for Foreign Affairs to visit Pakistan who accepted it warmly.
