ISLAMABAD, Aug 18 (APP): Adviser to the Prime Minister
on Foreign Affairs, Sartaj Aziz received Minister for Foreign
Affairs of Norway, Borge Brende here at the Foreign Office on Thursday.

The two sides expressed satisfaction over the positive
trajectory of relations between the two countries and
discussed various issues of mutual interest, including
political, trade and investment, economic and defence
cooperation.

They agreed on the need for strengthening cooperation
between the two countries in these areas, a press release
issued by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs here said.

The two sides also reviewed the regional situation,
including the current situation in Indian Occupied Kashmir.
The Norwegian Foreign Minister was briefed about the
Prime Minister’s initiatives for regional peace and stability
and strong commitment to maintaining cordial relations with
all neighbouring countries.

While exchanging views on regional issues, the Adviser
underscored the importance of resolving bilateral disputes
through dialogue for achieving sustainable peace in the region and its development.

The two sides also exchanged views on cooperation at
multilateral forums.

The Norwegian Foreign Minister stressed on the need to
enhance trade and economic cooperation between the two
countries and acknowledged the positive contribution being
made by Pakistan for the regional peace and security.
