ISLAMABAD, Jul 07 (APP): Special Assistant to the Prime Minister on Tribal Affairs and Member of the National Assembly, Mubarak Zeb Khan, has called for representation of the merged districts (formerly FATA) in the committee tasked with drafting recommendations to legalize the jirga system.
During the meeting on Monday, Mubarak Zeb emphasized that the representation of the merged districts in the committee is essential to safeguard their constitutional, political and other rights, said a press release on Monday.
Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif had constituted a committee to draft recommendations for the restoration of the jirga system, following consultations with all stakeholders and ensuring alignment with the constitutional framework.
