Sanjrani, Zartaj Gul discuss steps for improving environment

ISLAMABAD, March 5 (APP):Minister of State for Climate Change Zartaj Gul Tuesday held a meeting with Senate Chairman Muhammad Sadiq Sanjrani and informed him about steps for improving the environment and preventing the damaging effect of climate change.
She said tree plantation was given priority according to the vision of Prime Minister Imran Khan.
“There is a need to coordinate the efforts being made for improving the environment,” she added.
Sanjrani said Senate was contributing to the efforts for a better environment and had a standing committee and a special caucus to take up the issues of climate change.
He said Senate would prepare solid recommendations in view of the suggestions from relevant departments and provinces.
He said awareness could be raised about the need for a clean environment with better coordination among provinces. Planting of saplings in backward and less green areas would be given priority, he added.
